Dear Visitor,
If you are Catholic, I welcome you to our webpage. Your visit is
very much appreciated. It is out of utter respect to you as an individual
made in the image of God that I have put before you the posted items.
I would ask first of all that you read my own story as a
priest.
I spent thirty years in the Dominican Order, and served twenty-two years as a priest.
As a former Catholic, I know the pain that can accompany a search for Scriptural truth.
There are quite a number of us who were priests and nuns who have come to Biblical faith.
The stories of some of these are posted. I would ask that you
read them prayerfully.
The centrality of the Sacraments in Catholicism prompted me to write several articles on this topic.
I have provided both an
overview and more
detailed presentations.
I have also dealt with difficult topics, such as the present crisis concerning sexual abuses.
There are two articles on this subject
("Better to Marry"
and "The Root Causes").
Since the topic of the Papacy is central to Catholicism, I have devoted two articles to it.
I would ask that you first read the overview of the
history of the Papacy and then proceed to an
analysis of the Matthew 16 text.
In the section entitled Articles, I have dealt with Salvation as
God's Graciousness in Christ and another important topic,
The Certainty of the Written Word of Truth.
Since the Catholic Church is not simply a religion, but also a civil political entity,
there are articles addressing this such as
Vatican Control through Civil Law.
People have asked me to give a simple and precise difference between the Scripture
and official Roman Catholic teaching. I have done this in a Comparison Chart that is
entitled Thy Word is Truth.
The topics are in the center; the left side lists Bible verses explaining the Lord's truth,
and the right side contains the official teaching of the Catholic Church. This is meant to challenge you to compare Catholicism to the Scriptures. There is much on these two pages, it is important to ask the Lord for His wisdom in the Holy Spirit to know His truth. The pages can be printed on two sides of one page, and then photocopied if you wish.
