Do Catholic Priests Have Special Powers?

The Catholic priests profess that baptism regenerates the souls of men. By anointing with the oil of chrism, they claim that young people and adults are filled with the Holy Spirit by the sacrament of confirmation. By the words, “I absolve you from your sins in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,” uttered in the confession box, Catholic priests purport to forgive sins. The four words, “this is my body,” uttered at the altar during Mass, they believe changes the bread into the body of Christ. From cradle to grave, Catholic priests watch over Catholic boys and girls; men and women with claimed power to help them spiritually. We pray for a display of the Lord’s love, power, and grace as this DVD is viewed to His glory and for the salvation of souls. If you personally are touched by it, please let us know. Thank you.

The Papacy’s Claim to have the Authority of the Apostle Peter

For most Catholics, the authority of the Pope as derived from Peter is the main cornerstone of their faith. For others, it is the lifesaver to fall back on when all else fails. The Lord clearly stated that upon His divinity as “the Son of the living God, and His role as the Messiah, He is, in fact, the Rock on which His Church is built. Nonetheless, the Papacy declares its Church to be founded on the Apostle Peter alone. This is the lynchpin of Roman Catholicism. In this DVD, Pastor W. J. Mencarow, along with Richard Bennett, clearly documents the historical facts behind Papal power pretensions. This DVD is professionally made. Quotations from Scripture and other sources are given. Photographs, paintings, and maps illustrate biblical truth and documented historical facts. Kindly make this DVD known to others by forwarding its URL. Thank you.

Confession to a Priest
Traditional Confession Box

A Catholic person is taught to look for forgiveness by confessing his or her sins to a priest. Papal Rome’s insistence that her people confess is seen in her official teaching in the Catholic Catechism, paragraph 983, “Priests have received from God a power that he has given neither to angels nor to archangels...Were there no forgiveness of sins in the Church, there would be no hope of life to come or eternal liberation.” And in the Catholic Code of Canon law 960, it stated that, “Individual and integral confession and absolution constitute the only ordinary way which the faithful person who is aware of serious sin is reconciled with God and the Church.” Thus, the humiliating experience of confessing is obligatory. In face of real forgiveness directly from God in Jesus Christ, confession in the ear of a priest is utter deception. In this short DVD, Richard Bennett deals with the topic with sensitivity. Kindly make the DVD known to others by forwarding its URL. Thank you.

The Two-edged Truth

The first presentation is a 15-minute testimony of Richard Bennett.  With fervor, he exposes Catholic sacraments and looking within oneself for salvation.  At the same time, he indicts the teachings of false Evangelicals who look within to a person’s decision for salvation.  In the second 20-minute presentation, as a former Priest, Richard gives a 20-minute response to The Evangelicals and Catholics Together document.  Since salvation, according to the Scriptures, is found nowhere else than in the Gospel, Richard examines the ECT document in light of the biblical declaration of the Gospel.  The short testimony and speedy analysis of ECT are both valuable resources.  Kindly make them know to others.

The Testimony of a Former Catholic Priest

Richard Bennett’s testimony shows how difficult it was for him as a Catholic to give up Church tradition. The form of godliness that the Roman Catholic Church has makes it most difficult for a Catholic to see where the real problem lies. Every person must determine by what authority he/she knows truth. For Papal Rome, the ultimate authority lies in the decisions and decrees of the reigning pope. In her own words, “The Supreme Pontiff, in virtue of his office, possesses infallible teaching authority when ... he proclaims with a definitive act that a doctrine of faith or morals is to be held as such.” Yet, according to the Bible, it is God’s Word that is the authority by which truth is known. It was man-made traditions that caused the Reformers to demand the biblical standard for salvation; namely, sinners are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone. As you watch and listen to Richard Bennett’s testimony, we encourage you to study this and understand it for yourself. Please, make it known by forwarding its URL to others. Thank you.

 The Mass as a Sacrifice

Christ Jesus suffered as the sacrificial Lamb of God to procure forgiveness of sin and everlasting life for His people.  He has legally borne their sins and credited His perfection to them.  Christ alone was the perfect One that could do so; this is His glory.  Thus the radiant Christ is seen in His finished sacrifice.  When one sees the Catholic Church proclaim that in the sacrifice of the Catholic Mass Christ is immolated, he ought to be startled.  In this clear message, Richard Bennett explains how he wrestled in conflict in his own life.  Once you are convinced that eternal death is your lot outside of Jesus Christ, you should desire the truth.  For you to trust any sacrifice apart from the sacrifice once offered historically on Calvary, you are certainly under condemnation of God.  For those who know Christ, please make this DVD known to others.  Thank you.

From Knight of Columbus to Soldier in Christ

Kirk Vitzhum was raised on an Iowa farm in a devout Catholic family. He gives details of how he came to true biblical salvation. He had been a member of the Knights of Columbus, the which is the world’s largest Catholic lay organization to advance Catholicism. His departure from the Knights of Columbus is quite interesting. The interview is realistically down to earth and should prove to be both refreshing and informative. Please share this DVD with your family and friends. Thank you.

Excellence of Christ’s Priesthood and Rome's Parody

After the Lord Jesus’ resurrection, He is the sole sacrificial priest of the New Testament. He finished the work of our salvation by His one sole offering. It is of utter importance to understand the fact that Christ Jesus alone is qualified to be the believer’s Priest. He alone had the absolutely unique qualifications of being holy, harmless, and undefiled. The Lord Jesus Christ does not stand behind the Catholic make-believe priesthood. In face of Christ’s glorious priesthood, the Catholic priesthood is a parody and deception. Richard Bennett deals with the topic precisely and with sensitivity. Kindly make the DVD known to others by forwarding its URL. Thank you.

  The Bible and Tradition

What was the authority of faith for the first Christians in the early apostolic church? This question is critical to understanding the basis of God’s revelation for how He expects His people to live. Bill Webster discusses this important question in this interview with Richard Bennett. Christians throughout the centuries, along with the early church, have affirmed that the Bible is the only written revelation we have from God. Only the Scriptures can tell us about God and His will for mankind. The Scriptures are reliable and sufficient for matters of faith, doctrine, and life. It is important to understand this foundational truth at the present time. Please watch this interview, and kindly forward the link to those who need to know why the Bible is the sole source of Christian truth. Thank you.

A Former Catholic Medical Nun

Lolly Harding was a medical nun for 13 years.  She states, “After receiving a nursing degree I was sent to the mission field in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.  My experiences in the convent included working in a hospital for Muslims and a tour attending pregnant girls in a home for unwed mothers in Philadelphia.”  In this interview with Richard Bennett, Lolly speaks from her heart on her Texas ranch.  Her testimony is an inside story: intensely personal and heartwarming.

The Cross and the Mass by Richard Bennett

The Cross and the Mass

The Mass is the center of Catholic worship.  Officially, Papal Rome states, “For in the sacrifice of the Mass Our Lord is immolated when he begins to be present sacramentally as the spiritual food of the faithful under the appearances of bread and wine.”  The cross of Jesus Christ signifies His substitutionary sacrifice for the sinner.  The biblical uniqueness of Christ’s sacrifice is in the very fact that it was one offering made once–and once only.  The perfection of Christ’s sacrifice is contrasted with the daily repeated sacrifices of the Old Testament.  The Apostle Paul teaches, For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.”  The Apostle Peter likewise declares, For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God.  The majestic truth of the uniqueness of Christ’s sacrifice is heard from words of the Lord on the cross, It is finished.”  Thus, to teach that in the Mass the Lord is immolated is a sacrilege.  This topic, and many more, is delicately explained in Richard Bennett’s first video.  The Catholic Mass is quite a sensitive matter.  Therefore, please be careful when suggesting to Catholics that they should view this presentation.

With a Love for Catholics

The DVD is a round table rap session with New Yorkers Brian McLaughlin and Richard Wozniak.  They speak about their lives as Catholics and their coming to personal dynamic faith in Christ Jesus directly by the grace of God. Candor, sincerity, and compassion are the hallmarks of this interview hosted by Richard Bennett. This DVD is excellent resource for those who want evangelism that is gentle and relaxed. Kindly forward it to friends you think can profit from it.

Catholic Inquisition and the Torture Tools

The Roman Catholic Church, under the direct orders of her popes, was the direct and immediate cause of systematized robbery, torture, and murder of millions of Bible believers, Jews, and others for 605 years.  Richard Bennett and British historian Michael de Semlyen present a clear historic account of this period.  Professional dramatization inserts of torture and burning at the stake are included.  Actual photos of the historical torture devises are also included.

Catholic Mysticism and the Emerging Church Reexamined

Mysticism attempts to gain ultimate knowledge of God by a direct experience that bypasses the mind.  Catholic mysticism, now officially married to the Emerging Church, needs to be reexamined.  Old time mystics such as Loyola, Teresa of Avila, and John of the Cross need to be dealt with, together with modern so-called evangelical mystics such as Richard Foster.  All of this and more are done in this professional presentation with graphic inserts of persons and events.  An analysis is also made of Phyllis Tickle who has surfaced as a formidable leader of this toxic movement.  The fall from power of Tony Jones, a former leading light of the Emerging Church movement, is also documented.

The Biblical Uncovering of the Pope and Papacy

Cardinals: Scarlet and Purple

Only the Lord could have described beforehand the Office of the Pope and Papacy.  Man could never have anticipated the Papacy; only God foretells it.  That a power such as the Papacy claiming to act for God, to be “as God,” in the midst of the Christian Church, while flouting God’s truth and mocking His own Holiness, defies imagination.

The Pope Denounces True Christians

The Pope’s denunciation of true Christians was carried across the world as a major news item on July 10th-11th 2007.  For example, the UK Times declared, “If it isn’t Roman Catholic then it’s not a proper Church, Pope tells Christians.” Other headlines were “Vatican text angers Protestants” and “Pope Benedict XVI Detours Salvation Through Catholic Church.”  Because of the consequences of the Pope’s decree, and the change of Vatican policy involved, it is necessary to analyze the document and its after effects on true believers.  The careful scrutiny of what has happened in this denunciation is evaluated on this DVD by Richard Bennett and Michael de Semlyen, with professional production and narration by Brian Haskin.

A Conversation Between Two former Catholic Priests

A Conversation Between Two former Catholic Priests

Instead of discussing their former pursuits as priests, Richard Cefalu and Richard Bennett speak about what is most on their hearts; namely, the Gospel.  With enthusiasm, they emphasize the grace and power of the true Gospel.  That Gospel alone is the power of God unto salvation.  We see the Lord’s power as we boldly proclaim His grace to a lost and dying world.  Every saved individual is, “justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.”  This is the only way that a person finds the eternal life that is promised in the Scriptures.  It is encouraging that this Gospel-centered DVD is one of our most popular presentations.

Evangelicals Embark to Papal Rome

This is an account of the drastic departures from true evangelicalism that began at the Nottingham Conference in the UK in 1977, and in the USA in March 1994, with the “Evangelicals and Catholics Together” movement.  Richard Bennett and Michael de Semlyen carefully analyze the different apostasies.  The narration is by Brian Haskin.  Thus, this presentation highlights all the major apostasies of modern times.  At the same time, it clearly gives the Gospel of the Lord’s grace to His glory and for the salvation of souls.

The Vatican Meddling in Marriage

A Catholic wedding 1984

             Trinidad WI

The Vatican’s law on marriage involves millions of people around the world, especially in Catholic nations where the Vatican has a legal agreement (concordant) with the government, whereby Catholic Canon law civilly binds Catholic citizens.  The extravagant demands of Catholic laws impinge on the freedom of individuals.  The making and the unmaking of marriage is even claimed to be within the power of the Vatican.  Such power can be carried out by Papal Rome even if the man and woman involved in the marriage know nothing of what is being done.  All of this is fully documented in this DVD by Richard Bennett.  Because correct understanding of marriage is essential, and many Catholics live with deep guilt regarding the Catholic laws on marriage, this presentation is particularly relevant.

The Thundering Scot, John Knox

John Knox, a Catholic priest for 10 years, was converted to the Lord Jesus Christ, and afterwards he was arrested by the authorities and forced into being a galley slave for 19 months.  Later when freed, he preached in England until the reign of Queen Mary Tudor, otherwise known as Bloody Mary.  Richard Bennett interviews historian Sinclair Horne at historical sites for this account of Knox’s life.

A Priest’s Story on Location by Richard Bennett

This DVD is a presentation of Richard Bennett’s testimony, narrated by Brian Haskin.  It uses photos from Richard Bennett's early life, including a photo taken on the day of his ordination.  Video shots from 1996 show the Jesuit school Richard attended in Dublin, the Priory where he was trained, the church where he was ordained to the priesthood, and where he finished his training in a University in Rome.  These shots, together with photos from Trinidad, WI, where he served as a priest, make this DVD a unique insight into an account of a priest’s conversion.  This DVD is professionally produced.

Reaching Catholics with the Lord’s Love

This topic was especially on Richard Bennett’s heart throughout October 2008 during his speaking engagements across Scotland.  In the presentation, Richard expresses his deepest desire to give the correct Gospel message.  This DVD presentation was made October 14, 2008 at Isle of Lewis, Scotland.

Is Orthodoxy Biblically Orthodox

In recent years, interest among Christians in the Orthodox Church has steadily grown, and there have been a number of converts to this religious body.  A prime reason for this interest has been the growing fascination with mysticism and ancient tradition, which unfortunately has permeated Western societies.  Increasing numbers of Christians are coming into contact with Eastern Orthodox mysticism via the Emergent Church.  The unique topic is clearly addressed by Richard Bennett and Stuart Quint.  Photos of Orthodox priests and churches are inserted.

From Polish Catholicism to Trusting Christ Alone

With deep love for Catholic people, Peter Slomski explains his coming to personal faith in Jesus Christ.  Peter is from a Polish Catholic family.  Photos from his Catholic youth give great clarification to his touching testimony to the Lord’s love and grace.

Kosciol Wszystkich Swietych - Warszawa

 True Polish Christian History

Few people realize that Poland had a distinctive Christian history before Roman Catholicism took control of the nation in the late 16th century.  Interviewed by Richard Bennett, Peter Slomski gives a true account of Polish Christian history.

The First Martyrs of the Reformation

Patrick Hamilton and George Wishart were the first martyrs in Scotland.  Their lives and their martyrdom were the trigger to set the Reformation on the right course in Scotland and later across the world.  This DVD features Scottish historian Sinclair Horne as interviewed by Richard Bennett and was made on location at two historical settings in Edinburgh.

The Adulation of Man in the Purpose Driven Life

Richard Bennett exposes the widespread Purpose Driven Life movement that is afflicting thousands upon thousands of souls around the world.  Not only does he document with exact quotations Warren’s empire of deceit, but Richard gives the true Gospel of the Lord Christ Jesus with precision and the light of Scripture.

The Mindset of Catholicism Permeating Evangelicalism

In this DVD, Richard Bennett highlights the Catholic Church’s official teaching that people are “spiritually wounded and in need of restoration,” rather than being “spiritually dead in trespasses and sins and in need of conviction and conversion.”  Richard shows how this same mindset has become the basis of the so-called gospel message in the New Evangelical movement and its churches.  The claiming of “new birth” by water baptism in the Reformed Federal Vision movement, and an alleged “new birth” by making a “self-initiated decision to receive Christ as Savior,” is likewise exposed.  The Catholic mindset of propagating images of Christ are now accepted in New Evangelical churches with pictures of Christ in Sunday school materials and DVDs, and is shown in this DVD to be the most dangerous of the Catholic mindsets to pervade Christian circles.

Slovakia and the Political Influence of the Catholic Church

 Jan Sichula from Slovakia

Since the legal agreement (concordant) between the Vatican and Slovakia in the year 2000, there have been serious problems for Christian believers in Slovakia.  In this interview with Richard Bennett, Slovakians Jan Sichula and Ivan Hlavanda explain what has happened; namely, the repercussions, and what Christian believers in different nations should do in similar circumstances.

Slovakia, the Gospel, and the False Ecumenical Movement

This DVD should be viewed by those concerned by the fast-paced expansion of the false ecumenical movement around the world.  It focuses on native Slovakians Jan Sichula and Ivan Hlavanda.  Ivan gives an overview of the Christian history of Slovakia.  Professionally inserted in the presentation are pictures of sculptures, artifacts, and Slovakia’s past.  Jan and Ivan give their personal journeys of faith, explaining with profound concern the false ecumenical movement that is taking place in their own Slovakia.  There are practical lessons to be learned from these men in this interview conducted by Richard Bennett.

Experiencing God through Deceitful Mysticism

Professional deception and clever fraudulence are running rampant in mystical claims to experience God.  Thus, the signature of Satan is seen in St. John of the Cross, Ignatius Loyola, Madame Guyon, Carl Jung, Richard Foster, and in such as Mother Teresa, Rick Warren, Brian McLaren, Leonard Sweet, Phyllis Tickle, and other deceivers of the Emerging Church movement who transmit this plague.  In this illustrated DVD, Richard Bennett and James Sundquist expose the deceitful shams that prevail at the present time.  Explained also is genuine experience of God.

Rome’s First Ecumenical Saint, John Henry Newman

         John Henry Newman

Richard Bennett and Michael de Semlyen analyze the focal point of the Pope’s state visit to the UK in September 2010.  This focus was on the Pope’s presentation of the second stage of John Henry Newman’s path to Sainthood.  In this context, Newman’s life and cunning teachings are carefully documented.  There is a clear-cut introduction by the narrator, Brian Haskin.

Newman’s Eucharistic Devotion

Newman’s most serious error was teaching the symbolic Lord’s Supper as if the elements were the Lord Himself.  This error can lead people into apostasy, as the mystical aspect of the claimed actual presence of the Lord fascinates many.  However, Newman’s mystical Jesus is simply the age-old temptation of looking to a physical substance to obtain life.  In this DVD, Richard Bennett and Michael de Semlyen analyze the consequences of this error.  Please, make this DVD known to others, and kindly link to it, if possible.

The Heritage of the Reformation

Richard Bennett presents the heritage of the Reformation.  If you want revival, you ought to first seek the principles of Scripture as rediscovered at the Reformation.  If personally, or with your church, you return to the foundational authority of Scripture alone, taste deeply of grace alone through faith alone, and comprehend all blessing in Jesus Christ alone, then indeed you will live proclaiming all glory and praise to the Lord God alone!  The DVD has been professionally edited so that paintings of historical personalities are inserted, together with quotations from the Bible, and includes such subjects as the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

 The Original Early Church

The topic of who the early believers were, where they lived, and what they taught is very important.  We have great examples, as from the time of the Vaudois and Waldenses to the pre-Reformation believers.  In this DVD, Pastor W. J. Mencarow and Richard Bennett clearly document the actual historical facts.  It is imperative to analyze the details of the historical records.  This is professionally done in the DVD with graphics maps and paintings that illustrate these facts and make them easily understood.

Is John Paul II Blessed in the Sight of God

   Pope John Paul II

When Pope John Paul II was alive, he received a great deal of adulation and veneration while traveling to many different nations of the world.  Now, starting from May 1, 2011, the date of his canonization, people will be instructed not only to show him religious veneration, but also are urged to pray to him.  Thus, it is most important that we answer the question, Is John Paul II blessed in the sight of God?  What is at stake is the salvation of souls, because worship and prayer to a dead human negates essential biblical truths foundational to the Gospel.  Richard Bennett documents the official position of what Pope John Paul II instructed people to believe.  Richard also outlines exactly what are the consequences of worship shown to a human being.  The DVD is professionally edited and most revealing.

Frustrated in Catholicism Fulfilled in Christ

Patricia Allen grew up in a strict Catholic family doing all the required things of the Catholic Church, but she had emptiness inside, with a longing to know whom God really is.  This carried into her adult life, until one day the Holy Spirit convicted her of sin and, by grace, she believed on Jesus Christ alone.  Thus, she was born again, becoming a fulfilled child of God.  This DVD presents a cordial and informative interview with Richard Bennett.

Relishing our Salvation

This DVD is very realistic on how we can enjoy knowing God as our "Abba Father."  Practical examples are given of trusting, resting, and enjoying His presence.  Down-to-earth illustrations are ascertained of how to discern the loving care and providence of our loving Father in daily life.  From the distinguished believers in the past, illustrations are given relishing God's affectionate care for His people.

Historical Facts: Reformation to Modern Times

Counter-Reformation led

   by Ignatius of Loyola

History is of supreme importance as it is the storehouse of lessons comprehended from the past.  In this DVD, historian W. J. Mencarow, along with Richard Bennett, clearly documents the actual historical facts of following the Reformation.  Since the Papacy has not only attempted to reverse the influence of the Reformation, but also to rewrite history, it is imperative to know the established facts of history.  This is professionally accomplished in this DVD.  Photographs, paintings, and maps illustrate historical facts, making them more easily understood.

The Suppression of the Truth

The Suppression of the Truth is the title of a captivating interview that Richard Bennett did with Andy Mayfield.  Andy explains vividly his transition from a life of drink and lifeless religion to the enjoyment of his relationship with the Lord in salvation.  Andy really opens his heart to Catholics in this interview.  He explains the suppression of the truth that plagued his life.  His response to this repression is both refreshing and informative.  It is truly an exchange of the darkness of deceit for the radiance of the truth.

Beyond Drink and Drugs

Beyond Drink and Drugs is a DVD interview of Tim Brown with Richard Bennett, which gives a firsthand description of the facts.  Tim Brown was born in 1953 into a Catholic family; by the age of 14, he was drinking weekly.  Along with alcohol, by age 16 Tim was totally out of control and using all kinds of drugs.  Drinking and drugs were a major part of Tim’s life for the next 20 years, including his time in the military.  Tim’s interview with Richard Bennett is a most interesting account of a man that overcame deep addiction.  He not only overcame it, but he now has a totally new energetic life in the Lord.  Not only is Tim free to live with thanksgiving in his heart, the useful experiences from his devastating years are now used to rescue men who are caught in the addiction trap.  Tim on his Website states his purpose, “To see substance abusers become fully devoted followers of Christ.  The only way to find freedom, deliverance and true peace is through a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ.  It is this relationship which frees a man from sin, including substance abuse.”  This DVD can even be a great resource to help Christians who are oppressed by other addictions.  Since countless numbers of people use iPods, iPads, MP3 players and even cell phones to view DVDs, please make “Beyond Drink and Drugs” known to your friends.  Thank you.

The Truth about (Saint) Patrick

Patrick the Evangelist, who brought the true Gospel of Christ to the Irish, is an historical figure that needs to be heard in his own reverberating words and feelings.  The heartbeat and the soul of Patrick was the Gospel in Christ Jesus.  The facts presented in the DVD will no doubt be a revelation to many who have not realized the body of believers which Patrick clearly represented, his message, and legacy are all Scriptural with no trace of the rituals and hierarchy of Papal Rome.  As an Irishman, rejoicing in my heritage in Patrick, I ask you to make this DVD known to many others.  Thank you, Richard Bennett.

The Czech Republic Legacy

John Huss was born in Bohemia, which is now part of the Czech Republic.  Well before the Reformation, it was known for its strong stand for Biblical faith.  Such men as John Huss preached to the people in their own language.  The Scriptures were expounded abundantly in his sermons; his expositions were clear, and his messages were direct and simple.  In 1415, he was burnt at the stake for upholding the truth.  The history and heritage of the Czech Republic is told on this DVD by one of their own, Milos Solc.  Illustrations from history are given.  For many years, this one nation contended single-handedly against the numerous armies and various nationalities of the Empire.  But for their true faith in God, the Bohemians could never have sustained such a conflict.  These historical facts beg to be known in our own times.

 The Biblical Mary and Tradition

Official Catholic teaching regarding Mary assigns the offices and roles of Christ Jesus to her.  With deep respect for the biblical Mary, Richard Bennett explains her position, clearly showing that offices and roles of Christ Jesus are His alone.

Devout Convent Life to New Life in the Lord

Jacqueline Kassar spent forty-five years of her life as a Roman Catholic, twenty-two of them as a nun in an enclosed convent dedicated to adoration, reparation, and suffering.  Jacqueline believed it was a nun’s calling to be a miniature savior of the world resembling Jesus Christ.   She did not realize that offering reparation as a miniature savior belittled the Lord’s perfect sacrifice.  Her coming to true faith in the Lord is remarkable.  She wonderfully explains her new life in the Lord.  This is one of the more interesting DVDs that Richard Bennett has made.

An Interview with a Sri Lankan Man

 God who First Loved me

Robert Selvam was born and raised Catholic on the island nation of Sri Lankan.  This is Robert’s touching story.  He discovers that the Lord God first loved him.  When God is seen in Scripture as the Loving Father, acting love, a person by grace accept that love in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  This is what Robert Selvan discovered far away on the island of Sri Lanka.  He left Catholicism behind. but most of all he found true faith in Jesus Christ alone.  Robert now rests and delights most of all in the Lord God who first loved him, thus the title we give to this DVD, “God who first loved me.”

A New Creation the Transformation of Clarence Hafelin

        Clarence Hafelin

This is an outstanding interview with Richard Bennett and Clarence Hefelin.  The amazing transformation of Clarence is very evident in his testimony.  Watch and listen in as true biblical salvation is played out in real life.  This video helps define the biblical concept of being born again and walking as a new creation.  This is a sharp contrast with the Catholic tradition that infant baptism brings about new life.  This is a very touching story of true conversion.  Please share with your friends, and if possible, post a link on your Website.  Thank you.

Lost in Catholicism - Found in Christ

Greg Bentley was a typical American Catholic.  He dutifully performed Catholic traditions with no effect on his life.  After the tragic death of his father, and with his mother dying from cancer, he asked a Catholic nun to pray over her.  The nun’s ritual over his mother was an awakening shock for Greg.  He then became more and more aware of his lost condition.  A providential boat trip was the profound turning point of his life.   Greg, who had religion, now found the truth.  His story truly is “Lost in Catholicism - Found in Christ.”   Please make this heartening interview known to others.

 Bob Bush Former Jesuit priest

    Bob Bush as a Priest

Richard Bennett interviews Bob Bush a former Jesuit priest on a variety of  interesting topics including purgatory.  This DVD has been adapted from an Audio with photos added.  Nonetheless we include it because there has been the great interested shown for it, and the number of viewers that have listened to Bob Bush's message.

  Beyond Evolution and Catholicism

Dan Bentley talks about his early years as a Catholic.  Graphically he explains how evolution was taught as a fact in the public school and the confusion it caused him. Richard Bennett's interview with Dan has caused a quite of number of comments from viewers.  Please listen and watch and post your own comments, thank you.

From Polish Tradition to Biblical Truth

From Polish Tradition to Biblical Truth Biblical Truth

Former Catholic, Tony Dilego, discloses his deep roots in a Polish Roman Catholic family tradition.  Follow along as Tony shares his early years as an altar boy and his logical progression to biblical salvation, and finally setting aside all traditions to embrace the Word of God.  In the interview, Tony is adept at expressing his feelings, and with some humor.  This is a good DVD to share with your Catholic friends.

A Rowdy Carnal Catholic

Bob Holmes is quite different from most people whom Richard Bennett has interviewed.  In his written testimony Bob says, “Being a carnal Catholic is having the best of both worlds, or so I thought.  However, my carnality and my religion were both taking me to hell.  To me, the Catholic Church was to be feared and respected.  I grew up in an Irish Catholic family; my father was a New York City cop with an attitude.  I was number three in the family.  I went to Catholic Church until I was fifteen years old, when I started drinking.”  Now, you must watch, as we reveal the rest of the story in this fascinating and intriguing DVD.

Vatican Control through Civil Law

Control of civil law among European nations is what the Catholic Church thrived on through the Dark and Middle Ages. The same control continues today by the Vatican's legal contracts in civil law with other nations. Some of these are called Concordats, which legally binds the nation involved with the Vatican. A concordat secures for the Papacy rights such as establishing Roman Catholic education, negotiating laws regarding property, and recognizing Roman Catholic law regarding marriage and annulment. It is of signal importance to realize that the Roman Catholic Church has no other way to maintain her life than by imposition of her external laws, because she lacks the life-giving power of the Holy Spirit and unity of the One Body of the Lord Christ Jesus. She must legislate to exist, and she needs civil powers to enforce her decrees. Therefore, true believers must by the Lord's grace both understand these facts and make them known to others in our time.

A Nun's Story From Bondage to Freedom in Christ

Mary Allen spent 26 years as a Nun. In this interview, she gives a personal and very descriptive account of her long life in the convent. Her coming to true Christian salvation many years after convent life is fascinating. Mary herself says, “My heart desires for each person knowing my story will be truly saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. And being saved, I pray that they will daily, ‘grow in the grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.’ And that those who experience the saving work of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will give praise to Him saying, ‘To him be glory both now and for ever Amen.’” Please share this DVD with family and friends. In addition, please make it known to Catholics; and if possible, even to Catholic Nuns.

A Labyrinth Way from the Convent to Life in Christ

Eileen Doran was born into an Irish Catholic family, the third generation removed from the days of the potato famine immigration. When she was a young woman, she came to know some nuns that were stationed in her school. Her dad was from a deeply devoted Irish Catholic family that was interested in her becoming a nun. Eileen contacted the Sisters of Charity in New Jersey and was accepted into the convent. After some time, she took vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. She desired to live up to the motto of the convent, “Who lives to the rule, lives to God.” Her labyrinth years can only be understood as you listen to her in this heartwarming interview. May your relationship with the Lord deepen as you learn from this inspiring testimony of Eileen Doran.

The Unsearchable Ways of God

Mary Hertel took vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience in a Catholic convent. This was the logical direction looking back at the years of her youth. Raised in a strong Catholic home, educated in Catholic schools for sixteen years, and trained by six years of convent life, she lived with an eagerness to serve God as a teacher. This desire did not change when she left the convent in 1969. Two years later, she married a man whose background was strikingly similar, including four years in the seminary and a commitment to teaching. Yet, despite these roots, God’s unsearchable ways set her on a new path that brought her face to face with truth in the Person of His Son, Jesus Christ. This interview with Richard Bennett is truly charming.

From a Catholic Hippie to a Baptist Preacher

Bill Calabretta’s story is captivating. While totally a hippie in dress and lifestyle, he had no problems with Catholicism, even interacting with devout Catholic priests. As he explains, his state of affairs was that outwardly he reeked in clothing and behavior, and inwardly, his thoughts and desires were sinful and corrupt. Then, while searching to find a girlfriend at a Bible-believing church, the grace of God wonderfully intervened. If ever a story gives hope to those spiritually destitute, it is this. This is what it means to be transformed by grace. You are deeply loved, completely forgiven, fully pleasing, totally accepted, and complete in Jesus Christ. A viewer in utter distress and despair over his sins has more than hope; he has the Gospel of grace. Cry out to the Lord! The Lord, who heard Bill Calabretta’s plea, is “Faithful and True.” The Scripture proclaims, now is the day of salvation.” By grace, believe on Jesus Christ, your gift of salvation, now. The Lord is the only way; as He says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Catholic Mysticism and the Emerging Church Reexamined

Mysticism attempts to gain ultimate knowledge of God by a direct experience that bypasses the mind. Catholic mysticism, working together with the Emerging Church, needs to be reexamined. Old-time mystics such as Loyola, Teresa of Avila, and John of the Cross, need to be examined again along with modern so-called evangelical mystics such as Richard Foster and Dallas Willard. All of this, and more, is accomplished in this professional presentation along with graphic inserts of persons and events. An analysis is also made of Phyllis Tickle who has surfaced as a formidable leader of this toxic movement. The fall from power of Tony Jones, a former leading light of the movement, is also documented. As the Lord Himself warned, beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves.

 Twice Converted - Once Saved

As an infant Jim Kohlhepp was baptized into the Catholic Church. However, as Jim explains in the DVD he had his first personal conversion as believed in the Catholic Church around the age of 16. Then at age 35 at a home Bible study, the Holy Spirit convicted Jim of his sin and showed him that he had no saving relationship with God. In desperation Jim cried out to God for His grace and believed on Christ Jesus alone for the salvation of his lost soul. As a result Jim’s second conversion was genuine and everlasting. In this gripping interview Richard Bennett talks with Jim Kohlhepp. As you look and listen ask yourself the imperative questions. Do I know whether my sins are forgiven and if Jesus Christ’s perfection has been credited to me?

If you wish to discuss anything in the DVD just email Jim at: jkohl@twcny.rr.com Thank you.

Biblical Renewal for a Catholic Marriage

Mark and Shawn Prosser were a typical Catholic couple. Their joy and glory were the Catholic sacraments. Their lives were founded on the institution of the Roman Catholic Church. As they had children and began raising them, doubts and sins started to distress them. So began their journey to biblical faith. The life of faith, by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, bore great fruit in Mark and Shawn’s lives. Not only is their own marriage now stable, they give great insights into what a biblical marriage really is. If you live with deep guilt in your marriage, here is a DVD to warm your heart and renew your mind. Please watch and listen to Mark and Shawn in this appealing interview.

Lost in the Church - Secure in Christ

This video gives the remarkable story of Mark and Trisha Parrent. Mark grew up in a devout Catholic family and faithfully served as an altar boy. Nevertheless, he sensed that something was missing in the emptiness of his ritualistic prayers. His wife Trisha was from a strict Polish Catholic background that took pride in Catholicism’s advancements in American life in the 1960’s. Subsequently, however, personal difficulties and family tragedy struck. By the grace of the Lord, surviving these, Mark and Trisha found security in Christ alone and not in the Church. If you grasp something of what Mark and Trisha went through, or if you have a question, please email us at bereanbeaconmail@yahoo.com. Thank you.

From Irish Catholic to Life in Christ

This outstanding interview with Terry Stillin includes interesting insights into Irish history.  Terry had deep religious roots, having been born and raised in a very Catholic family.  While hitchhiking along a road, Terry was picked up by a Christian man who shared with him the gospel of God’s redeeming love and grace.  Terry was born again by the Spirit, and his new faith broke the ties of his empty religion and gave him a vibrant new life in Christ.  This DVD will minister to all who have been steeped into empty religious rituals.  Please share it with your family and friends.  Thank you.

 Salvation and the Sacramental System

Biblical faith and Catholicism differ fundamentally on what is necessary for salvation before God.  Faith on Christ Jesus is the major theme of the New Testament.  In the Lord’s own words, “This is the work of God, that ye believe on Him whom He hath sent.  For Catholics, believing does not simply mean trusting Jesus Christ and Him alone for salvation.  Catholics must believe on both the Church and her sacraments.  The official statement of the Church of Rome is, “The Church affirms that for believers the sacraments of the New Covenant are necessary for salvation.”  In this DVD Richard Bennett explains with care and concern the problems that Catholics face as they try to live out their faith.  Please make this DVD known to your family and friends.  If possible, please link to it or have it placed on an Internet website or blog.  Thank you.

 Light and Obscurity

Pastor Steve Van Horn interviewed Richard Bennett in the early days of Richard’s ministry. Even in those early days, with clarity, Richard explains the stark contrast between Roman Catholicism and biblical faith. Light and Darkness is what Steve and Richard call the program. Catholicism, in fact, continues to be shadows, while biblical truth is light. Nonetheless, all the powers of darkness cannot shake the Lord God’s power and promises. We pray that this biblical light by Lord God’s grace shall be seen as this DVD is viewed. If you personally are touched by it, please let us know. Thank you.

 Evangelicals and Catholics Together

In March 1994, a group of 20 leading Evangelicals and 20 leading Roman Catholics produced a document called Evangelicals and Catholics Together. The two main instigators were Richard John Neuhaus who was a Roman Catholic priest, and Charles Colson who was the founder of Prison Fellowship. Soon after this publication, Pastor Steve Van Horn interviewed Richard Bennett on the consequences of movement that it had started. Richard clearly showed that while the authors claimed that Evangelicals and Catholics are one in Christ, in fact, this claim is an utter fallacy. Now in the 21 century, the same fallacious hullabaloo continues. Rather than compromise the Gospel, we are to separate from those who promote such heresy and “earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered to the saints.” We request that you make this DVD known to others. If possible, please link to it, or have it placed on an Internet Website or Blog. Thank you.
